What our clients say:
“For the first time, our brand matches the quality of our machines. Montgomery Code built us a visual identity and content system that speaks directly to our customers, and the market has responded.”

Modernizing a 2005-founded gear inspection leader, now part of Kapp Niles.
Penta Gear Metrology has designed, developed, manufactured, and serviced analytical gear inspection machines from Dayton, Ohio, since 2005, earning a reputation for ensuring accuracy in automotive transmission and industrial drive applications that few OEM shops can match. Now operating as part of Kapp Niles, a global leader in gear grinding technology, Penta Gear needed a brand identity that aligned with that standard of excellence while standing distinctly on its own.
Dated visuals and unfocused content were creating a gap between the machines' quality and the company's market presentation. They needed a brand system that would engage modern American manufacturers, one with the technical credibility insiders demand and the visual identity to back it up.
An involute-star identity, a dark future-automotive design system, hands-on photo and video, product literature, and a scalable PDP website.
We started by building an identity rooted in Penta Gear’s world. The logo mark is a five-pointed star with a secret: each point is an involute gear tooth, complete with proportional face, flank, and fillet. Gear engineers recognize it immediately. For everyone else, it just looks sharp. The visual system pairs that mark with a dark, future-automotive aesthetic and the clean, modern sensibility of Kapp Niles, striking a balance between unapologetically American character and European engineering rigor.
From there, we produced photography and video content that put faces and hands-on expertise front and center, communicating the craftsmanship behind the machines and software, not just the machines themselves. Market-specific product literature gave the sales team sharp, polished tools for every customer conversation.
The website was built with a scalable PDP architecture, designed to grow alongside the product line without requiring a rebuild. Since launch, organic traffic has grown 46% year over year, and site engagement, including document downloads and form submissions, has increased 34%. The brand and the machines now speak the same language: credible, modern, and built for the buyers who know the difference.
